Happy New Year 2019!

If you visited this page, I made something for you! I made a short video greeting for the incoming new year and it would be great if you watch it. Here is the link for you to tap or click. https://youtu.be/K9PWf1_tD-s See you there and thanks!

1996 Honda Civic Hatchback

As we explore more diecast models of different brands, our Johnny Lightning collection slowly grows with each find. This is our latest Johnny Lightning car, the 1996 Honda Civic Hatchback in blue. This model is part of the Import Heat under the Street Freaks series. I think this car is a custom model because the wheels are more tucked in the wheel wells and the stance is low. This might have been modified to do some street racing and I think my guess is right given the description of the series in the packaging. It still looks like a normal Honda Civic for the most part, except for the modifications. The paint designs on this premium model are good like the smooth blue body paint, and the flat black paint on the front hood and side mirrors. Punisher Van

The Punisher is one of Marvel Comic's realistic and action-oriented characters. He does not have any mutant powers, but he has tools like weapons, gadgets, and armor to fight crime. I remember playing an old PC game of The Punisher, and he does have a van to travel places to complete the other stages of the game. I believe that van is the Punisher Van, and it is now in Hot Wheels diecast form. The Punisher Van, like the Ghost Rider Charger, is a fun collectible. It does not only look good, but it has interactive features. The turrets can move for multiple display options. The paint designs are in the right places like the lights and door handles. The interior even has paint decorations on the computer monitors and that is very nice! NASCAR Skittles 18

I do not collect many NASCAR collectibles because I am not familiar with the sport. I only have around four small NASCAR diecast cars in my collection, and those were picked based on the paint designs. This Kyle Busch Skittles 18 car became part of my collection because I like Skittles, this year is 2018, the car was designed as a Toyota Camry, and there are multiple racer number 18 in the car. The model is detailed and accurate with the real car. The extended back, same sized wheels, hollow front, and interior look good. There are many paint designs on the body and those make the model colorful and fun to look at. I think this is a premium level car with the details. A bonus collectible is included with this model and that is the plastic hood with the paint design of the car. 1986 Toyota Trueno

Jada Toys scale their models a bit larger compared to other diecast brands. For example, their 1:64 scale cars look like 1:55 if placed side by side with 1:64 cars. That is fine because with a larger scale, Jada Toys can add more details like they did with this Trueno. The 1986 Toyota Trueno is part of the JDM Tuners 1:64 series. I think this is series 2 because the car list in the packaging consists of a new set of cars, including this one. The Trueno is not a basic version, but a modified version. I said this because it has a more extended set of fenders and lowered stance. The paints on the gold body are few but those are in the right places. This was hard to find and it took us weeks before getting this, and it was worth it. Maybe it was hard to find because it is a gold Trueno? Monster Trucks Test Subject

I remember when this first came out, it was one of the most popular among the first series. I picked this to understand why, and I think I do. It is very colorful and has plenty of paint designs on the body. The color of the rims and chassis blend good with the violet body. The Test Subject character for me is a bit ambiguous. Things that are test subjects usually looks like a foot soldier following its commander. The character in the truck does not look the part. Instead, it looks like the commander. Maybe the Hot Wheels Monster Trucks team knows the real backstory of this truck. What I know is the Test Subject is going to do some alien stunts in the Monster Trucks arena soon. '70 Plymouth Road Runner FnF

I started to appreciate muscle cars in action after I watched the first Fast and Furious movie. This is one of the main character's car, and he used it to race against an import car driven by another main character. The model is really a repaint of an existing Hot Wheels mainline '70 Plymouth to match the one in the movie. The casting details include the lights, door handles, interior, and back skirt fenders. I also like the wipers included in the metal body. The paint designs are simple: a paint stripe at the top of the back fenders and movie copyright text at the driver's door.
