Matchbox continues to return some of its earlier features in the Superfast 50th Anniversary series. The BMW i8 appears in premium form with real rider wheels, more paint designs, and opening features. The opening features or moving parts in this car are the doors. You can open the doors up to reveal the interior. It looks great with these moving parts and it gives new collectors a glimpse of how the old Matchbox models work.
I thought the moving parts in the premium Superfast has more metal, but it does not. It is merely a tiny upgrade of the other moving parts line that is non-Superfast. The tiny upgrade is the packaging and the included collectible cardboard box. The i8 still has plastic on the opening doors. The doors are a pain to open in this i8 because of how it was designed. If you have this model, you may have experienced this on the doors.
